This is an exciting extracurricular project that provides young people with lessons to help them write, record, and share music. This includes singing lessons and tuition in the use of musical instruments such as drums, keyboard, piano, and guitar.
At the end of the project, participants will record and share their creations with the community through a showcase event involving parents, friends, the local Councillor, and the wider community. Project volunteers are available to support the planning, preparation, and delivery of this event.
Apart from music, participants will be supported in areas such as safety during Covid-19, CV writing, job applications, and interview preparations. Speakers within the BAME community will be invited to address the young people on the dangers of gang membership during interactive sessions.
At the end of the project, the participating young people will have a better understanding of the dangers of being in gangs and the impact it can have on their lives and family.
The project comprises weekly meetings that run over a period of four months.
